The library is a vital
part of the University. It is a collective tool used in all disciplines to
allow students to develop their intellect, general knowledge and
recreational skills in the fields of Arts, Literature and Social Sciences
above and beyond what is taught in the University. It gives its users
autonomy in their quest for information and knowledge.
The aim of
the University is to create a library containing reference works in the
areas of Arts, Literature and Social Sciences in French, as well as the
main works representative of Western and Arabic cultures in their original
language.
The library
opened in October 2006 with 8 000 works. This will be gradually
supplemented with 15 000 new acquisitions per year.
Users are
encouraged to participate in the acquisition of works by making
suggestions. The library staff will take them into account depending on
their relevance.
The Library
is made up of:
- A reading room
that contains manuals and books to be consulted on the spot in
conjunction with the courses taught. This ensures that essential works
are available to all at all time. After a few weeks, at the end of the
course, these books can once again be borrowed.
- An adjoining
periodicals room
- A free access
storage room containing books
The Library
staff is available to help users in any possible way.
